Drinks and finger food are on us, while if you want to use also the swimming pool, there’s an additional fee of 15€ (you have nice pools at your hotels as well though). After an hour or so, anybody up for grabbing a bite is recommended to head to Wine bar/Restaurant La Frasca to enjoy life’s goodies (eat and drink). This pit stop is at your own expense, but prices are fair and we will get a group discount if we arrive in plenty. It’s something like a 10 minute walk.

Hotel Preistoriche is within reasonable walking distance from the two hotels (something like 10 minutes from Garden Terme and 15-20 minutes from Millepini). If you prefer taxi, you will find the phone number on this very blog shortly.

If it’s raining, which for the moment seems unlikely according to the weather forecasts, the drinks at Preistoriche are still on, but indoors.

Weather forecasts look niiice!

As we’re approaching the last week of preparations, I gladly present to you the weather forecast! I say gladly, because the long term forecasts are looking up, especially considering that the last few weeks have been predominantly on the wet side (last time it rained this much in May in Italy was 30 years ago). Here we go:

The Norwegians at www.yr.no foresee no rain (but a bit cloudy), and decent temperatures:

The Americans at www.weather.com seem to pretty much agree, though a bit more optimistic regarding the temperature:

The Italians at www.meteo.it agree with the International expertise regarding the partial cloudiness, but foresee a hot hot day with 28 degrees!

Scrovegni chapel

Hi,

just a quick note for any art entusiasts coming to Montegrotto. There is a very famous chapel in Padova called Capella degli Scrovegni, with paintings by Giotto from the early 14th century. It's possibile to visit the chapel, but necessary to book tickets in advance at http://www.cappelladegliscrovegni.it/eng/prenota_e.htm.
PS. Guided tours in English are unfortunately only available for groups. DS.

Il Toastmaster...che non é un elettrodomestico

Questa la scrivo in italiano in modo che tutti gli italiani appunto non possano dire di non aver capito bene la faccenda.
Nei matrimoni svedesi é usanza che amici e parenti della coppia intervengano durante la festa per divertire tutti con un breve discorso (o qualsiasi altra performance) su uno o su entrambi gli sposi.
Durante il matrimonio di Linn (la sorella di Johan) e Philip ce ne sono stati parecchi veramente divertenti e al tempo stesso toccanti.
Per coordinare il tutto la coppia individua un Maestro di Cerimonie, il Toast Master appunto, che definisce la scaletta degli interventi tra un boccone e l´altro.
Guido, mio cugino, ha accettato questo importante ruolo (cosa che gli sta giá creando parecchio stress)e quindi chiunque di voi abbia voglia di prendere parte a questa tradizione nordica puó contattarlo via mail (guido_oselladore@hotmail.com) o via telefono ( +39 338 6653322)

Wedding list

 

When it came to decide what to ask as a gift for our wedding we both didn't have any doubts, we immediately thought of our HONEYMOON!
At the beginning we were very much into Argentina, bet when we realized that it would have been WINTER...we thought that maybe we didn't need any more snow for 2010 :)
So the choice was open...Johan wanted to go to Japan and I wanted to go to the US (a lot of patchwork places), so in the end we agreed on Africa and Tanzania was the best pick!
We are going to do the tour of the northern parks and have some relax in Zanzibar after it.
This is really our big dream, to nourish our souls with the amazing view of Wild Africa.
